Dr. Pradeep Chowbey is a pioneering laparoscopic surgeon with a global reputation. He has over 45 years of surgical experience and has trained over 20,000 surgeons from all over the world in minimally invasive procedures. He was among the first in North India to perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy and the first in the Asia Pacific Region to perform MAFT (Minimally Invasive Fistula Technology). He has dedicated his career to developing, evaluating, and disseminating Minimal Access, Metabolic, and Bariatric Surgery in India and the Asian subcontinent.
His Max Healthcare Institute was the first in India to receive Surgical Review Corporation's Center of Excellence accreditations for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery and Hernia Surgery (2011-2014).
He was listed in the Guinness Book of Records in 1997 and the Limca Book of Records from 2000 to 2020 (consecutive twenty years) as the first Endoscopic surgeon performing the most number of minimal access surgeries. He has published over 300 original scientific papers in international and national indexed journals, as well as chapters in various text/reference books from prestigious publishers such as Springer, Jaypee, and Elsevier.
